Thierry Goldberg Gallery is pleased to present Optically Topical, a four-person group exhibition curated by Alex Allenchey, with paintings by Amanda Baldwin, Morgan Blair, Ruth Freeman, and Aliza Morell.

This exhibition showcases painters who each utilize different methods of stimulating the eye. Their brightly colored abstractions, which feature carefully rendered layers, foil our first sensorial impressions, as shapes shift to the fore or background over prolonged examination. Many of the works, whether inspired by a picture found online or created with digital tools, reference the ways in which technology has altered our lexicons of perception, even when viewing images away from our screens.
